St Luke’s Mews – Notting Hill

  • Now part of the ‘off the beaten track’ tourist trail, St Luke’s Mews had a starring role in the ‘Love Actually’ movie.
  • We already have lots of clients on this famous cobbled mews, so we were thrilled when the chance came up to manage our first holiday let here.
  • This is an extraordinary, large family home in the heart of Notting Hill. Three large double bedrooms, two bathrooms, two stunning living spaces, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, private garden and a roof terrace with amazing views.
  • The shops, restaurants, boutiques and café culture of Portobello Road and Westbourne Grove are right on the doorstep. Yet the property retains a sense of tranquility. A rare find in the capital and a perfect place for a short holiday.
  • The owners were going away for the summer and asked a neighbour if they could recommend anyone. The neighbour, who was already a client, sang our praises, so contracts were quickly signed and we got to work.
  • Over a 6-week period, we secured 37 nights of bookings and kept everything spotless for the family’s return.

Woodstock Grove – Shepherd’s Bush

  • This large family house is situated just a few minutes’ walk from Westfield Shopping Centre in Shepherds Bush.
  • The bars, restaurants and coffee shops of Shepherds Bush Green are also walking distance and Holland Park, with its Kyoto garden and peacocks, is just a 15-minute stroll.
  • Period features, captivating artworks, bold furnishings and a private roof terrace make this three bedroom, three bathroom home something rather special.
  • We were asked to manage the house at the beginning of May and from then until mid August, we secured 56 nights of bookings.
  • After this, we found a short let tenant from the film industry who will be there until the end of January. Then we’ll get a fresh 90-day allowance on Airbnb.
  • Our client lives in Spain and the whole process has been managed without them having to be involved at all. They get all of the benefits, but none of the hassle.

Monmouth Road – Westbourne Grove

  • Not everything on our books falls into the ‘large family home’ category. This is a really quirky, self-contained studio at the end of the owner’s garden.
  • Nicknamed ‘The Pod’, this contemporary studio features a kitchenette, wet room and remote controlled bed that disappears into the wall. For such a small space, it’s incredibly bright, with natural light flooding in through the glass roof.
  • Guests have access to the shared garden, with their own outdoor seating area and private entrance.
  • Westbourne Grove has lots of shops and restaurants, and the many delights of Notting Hill, Hyde Park and Paddington are just around the corner.
    As an existing client of ours, we had secured a short let in the past, but because of its size, we knew it would work really well on Airbnb.
    In the two months between short lets, we secured a total of 47 nights of bookings.
    Since then, we’ve let the studio and the main house out together for a short let booking, but will be putting the property back onto Airbnb for the Christmas period.
