The Rise of Mansion Block Living in Kensington

Chloe Leefe, Mountgrange HeritageThe most striking change in the Kensington property market in recent times has to be the rise in popularity of mansion block living in Kensington. In the last 18 months, we’ve sold seven mansion flats with a huge amount of interest in each one.

There are several reasons for this; they are incredibly popular with the ever increasing amount of foreign buyers in Kensington because of the security they offer, the owners can ‘lock up and leave’ whenever they like. The presence of a porter or concierge also means a parcel can be delivered at any time and if residents are away, someone is on hand to make sure there are no leaking pipes or other problems with the property.

Another reason for their popularity is quality; the buildings are normally very well managed and always kept in good order. Their location is normally very central too – most mansion blocks can be found very close to the high street and transport links.

The lateral living that these apartments offer is popular with families who don’t want stairs – perfect for older and younger residents. They are also great for downsizing from larger homes where stairs have become an issue.
