Contributing to the community
We’ve worked in the community of Notting Hill and Kensington for many years and have forged strong links with local cultural organisations. We’re proud to sponsor the following organisations so that they can continue with the amazing work they do:
The Portobello Film Festival
The Portobello Film Festival was created in 1996 to provide a forum for new film-makers and to give exposure to their films. More than 10 years on, the Portobello Film Festival is supported by the Electric Cinema and we are delighted to be involved as a sponsor of such an innovative event. The theme of the 2009 festival was “the beat goes on” and it premiered over 700 new films – features, shorts, documentaries, music films and animation – from all over the world. Admission for all Portobello Film Festival screenings is free and events are held in a variety of wonderful locations all over Notting Hill.
Kensington and Chelsea Music Society
Founded in the early 60s, originally as a gramophone society, this highly respected music society aims to provide a London platform for exciting new talent and young classical musicians. With the support of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea the concerts, talks and master classes are held at the beautiful Leighton House in Holland Park. We are thrilled to be able to help the society grow.
Full Of Life
As part of our ‘Village Values’ drive we wanted to support a charity from our local community. Full of Life is a parent support group for children with disabilities in Kensington & Chelsea which was founded by parents of disabled children in the borough back in 1994.
